Sam is the Man Today
It's been seven years since we went from a family of four to the Fab Five.
Sam's birthday is today!
He is seven!
We've spent lots of time together over the last 84 months.
And he's still stuck by my side today.
My little brother.
He wears the world's ugliest winter coat.
And is also the World's Worst gift giver.
For Christmas he got me this candle holder (missing the candle)
and told me it was a jewelry holder.
He also got me this excellent piece of literature.
Mind you, he told me days before that a book
was the worst Christmas a person could ever get.
He's a terrible loser.
He thinks the natural world is his toilet.
His favorite place to pee is off of the deck.
His fly on his jeans is down more than it is up,
and every single pair has a rip in the knee.
He's not the most comforting person.
Sam is rough and likes to punch.
I cut my hair drastically a little while ago and I was upset about it.
I'm used to it now but that night I was quite upset.
I don't think Sam ever saw me cry before.
He came up to me, put his arms around me, and said,
"It's okay, Ellen. I think your small hair is ugly, too."
(I am getting used to my new length though).
His manners need some refining, but I have many more months ahead to work on them with him.
