Truth Be Told #25

Truth Be Told #25
It Was a Sam Kind of Holiday

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
This is Ellen Louise reporting to you from inside the Lamp Post.
Here is how we spent our Christmas.

First of all, we spent it kind of sideways.

My dad hurt his back and he couldn't move for weeks!

Thanks to Dr. Krauza he was able to crawl out to the living room on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
That's my dad toward the bottom of the picture with his arm up.  Good news is he is walking now.
Sam is in the middle, of course.
He was quite excited this holiday.

He loved his presents.  Sam surprisingly didn't get coal.
He strangely loved this teddy bear and hasn't put it down.

He was a good gift GIVER too.
Sam shopped at his school store for all of us.

Some of his picks were a little odd.

He picked out this school figurine for Grandma.

And this church for Grandpa?????

Grandpa said those are his two favorite places---school and church.
!?!?!?!

We asked Sam what his worst present would be and he said "A Book."
Guess what he got me?

But I was lucky.  I got two presents.

He got me this, too.

He thinks it's a jewelry holder, but I think it is some sort of candle thing missing the candle.

Sam was excited to give it to me and I love it anyway.
It's the thought that counts.

He got mom something really interesting.

It's a nutcracker.

That doesn't work.

And even better, he got MOM this pen.

He told mom that she is supposed to remember how much she loves dad every time she uses it.

Speaking of Dad, he got this.

Sam thought it was a chap stick on a hook.

It's actually and LED light.

They say it's the thought that counts, and at least my brother put some thought into his gifts.

We found in Natalie's book bag one wrapped gift.
She never said anything about it, we just found it.
It had my name on it.
When I unwrapped it, I found this!

From what we can understand she made it at Claytopia.  Just for me!

I got this cool shirt and a whole bunch of other great gifts.

Natalie got a shirt with words on it too.
Unfortunately when she wears her fleece, it can be a bit deceiving.

It actually says hello a bunch of times in rainbow colors.

We went out to eat at Red Lobster.

Sam got mac and cheese and french fries for the sixth year straight.
It doesn't matter where we go.  He orders mac and cheese at wing places, seafood restaurants, and mexican restaurants. It can't be good?!?

It was a huge challenge for him because Sam is afraid of the lobsters in the tank.

After we were there awhile he realized the lobster tank was on the other side of the divider.  He kept asking me if lobsters could climb and if lobsters could come to life on dad's plate.  I had him going for awhile.

He's afraid of lobsters because of this cup.

The Meyers got it as a joke to play on my dad.
The worst joke was played on Sam.
He still sleeps in my room because of it.

We had Family Game Night.  It was fun.
Sam takes his game playing very seriously.
He only got in trouble three times.

This is a game we all can play.  It is called Tenzi.
It is a fun family game that we all can play.

As you can see, I am growing tired of family time and looking forward to seeing my friends at school on a regular basis.
I can't believe I just wrote that.

 Have a great New Year.
I hope 2014 is extra special.

Love,
Ellen Louise
